Will a betta fish be harmed if left in light twenty four hours a day?

im doing a science project. there is no explanation needed but will a betta be able to live in a 2.5 gallon heated and filtered tank for two weeks with the light on all day? i will have something for the betta to hide under in order to get some shade but will it be fine?

Yes, it will be fine. Fish, however, can get stressed if they don't have darkness.

They tend to be active when there's light. When there's darkness, they will go into a state of rest. The problem with having the light on 24/7 is that it won't get enough rest. If you have a cave or something though, it should be fine. What exactly is your project about?

Will you keep the betta after the experiment is done? =]
