How to oxygenate the koi pond?
Hello, I'm buying koi pond I do not want to get an air pump. I wondering if a drop of water would be sufficient. The waterfall Enanta be my DIY pond filter. The pond will be around 600-800 gallons with 4 koi fish. The koi fish is preety small however. There will also be a ton of plants. I make this small pond around 30-60 gallons and filled with plants and oxygenizers I also have a normal pelvis few plants. Not much just 3-5. Is it enough? Also, if theres something that I could also do this please list it or is it possible to make a DIY pond air pump with only 1 pump. This is how the installation works. The pump will be short course with oxygenizers. Small pond will get water from the main pond. Pond pump will pump water to my home DIY bio pond filter. The biofilter will have a pipe leading to a fall. Waterfall falls into a pond.
Hello, you have 4 real options to oxygenate your pond. 1. Aeration by "bubbler." They are inexpensive, and bubbles can be hidden behind rock work on the edge of the pond. They consume very little electricity. Remember to read the maximum depth of the aerator you buy, and shall correspond to the location where you place the stone bubbles in your pond. Bubble stones must be replaced each year (or more). 2. Fountains also work well. The trick is to break the smooth surface of water (as the bursting of bubbles of an aerator will do) with small water droplets. The disadvantage for fountains is that they splash rock work, water lilies and sometimes splashing water of the pond. The small pump required for a fountain set up charge is medium and the cost of running it full time (leave it all the time as an aerator) is a few dollars per month. 3. Waterfalls are my favorite choice for a natural looking pond. You need the speed that water splashing down the Rivers and made a little foam (bubbles) under the water surface at a given time. I have a pond 2500 gallons, which is fully ventilated by a small waterfall Level 3 running at 1200 gallons per hour. The cost of the pump is about $ 120 (Little Giant pumps are excellent and last for years), and the monthly electricity is about $ 10-12 dollars. Again, you must leave the pump on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you will unable to pay the electric, then buy a smaller pump so you can leave any time. 4. Plants are a source of oxygen during the day, but they use oxygen at night. Therefore, they are not a reliable source of oxygen to a pond. When water turns green, that algae (single celled organism just like vegetable). Green water algae makes oxygen during the day, but can use all the oxygen in a pond at night. To prevent algae green water below, I recommend another member of the family of algae, chara. Chara grows wild in most lakes and streams, and you can get it free if you do not mind getting wet. It is a seaweed filamentageous (looks like a lot of plants that you buy at the store of the pond) that can be allowed to float above the water, or wet with pebbles at the bottom. As it becomes larger, it will flow and grow from the bottom as the lake where you got it. Chara will continue to grow like a weed because it uses fish waste and keep the water clear. Just pull the excess from time to time, and engage in your compost pile or garbage. You can also give it to someone else with a pond and green water. If you want to know what resembles chara, just look google images. I hope this helps. I had many questions when I started and I found that the best help came from people in my area that had already ponds. Check out the local library or community center for groups pond meets monthly. You can also give your name to the local plant / pond supply and ask them if they know anyone in your area that also has a pond.

After taking your bath in the showers, you will do well to clean the tiles immediately. There is the possibility of lathers and soap staining the tiles of the showers. This cleaning will prevent the stains from tarnishing the surface of the tiles. You can do this cleaning by wiping the tiles on the wall of the showers with a towel. When you wipe it dry this way, you will also be protecting the tiles on the showers from growing melds.
