How do I find the weedline, and why not mark fish?

I am a young fisherman walleye on a small budget. I have a Cuda 300 Eagle sounder, and I need to find the line of weeds. I think it will be useful. And why not mark fish? Does the sonar? If please help.

Hi Ryan, I know it's frustrating when you are a new angler and you can not see what you really want ... much Fish! There are some things you can do to find the fish well. I do not think your unit is the problem. When you try to learn about a lake (you did not say if you were on a lake or river, then I make a hypothesis), it is useful to get a lake map shows the depths typographical and contours of the lake. You can get one at your local store. This will help you know where to start on the lake with your sonar. Talk to people in the bait shop too. They usually know a lot about what the fish are biting and where. Weeds should appear on your sonar as appropriate. If you're fishing on a lake with a sandy bottom, it can not be that many weeds and probably not a lot of fish because that's where hiding and hunting. Pollster you will help to mark fish.
