KOI questions in my tank?
I have a lot of questions about two koi I arrived 3 days ago from the local Petco. I have them in one gallon tank 10 and has a real plant and some fake plants in it. 1) I was told that to obtain these foods for pond fish and koi for since the fish are small how much (# pellets or w / eu call it) and how many times during that day should I feed them. I read all kinds of things on the internet and they all say different things ... What should I do? 2) I read somewhere that they feed on plant thats real .. how is that? We hope these will be answered. Thank you
Koi are pond fish and should be preserved in ponds. They have enormous growth potential. A 10 gallon tank is not suitable for koi. You must either return them to the store, give them to a friend with a large pond or get your own pond. If you keep them in this little stunt you tank them, which means their bodies are still growing, but their body does not and he ended up killing the fish. They will agree in your 10 gallon tank for a bit, but not long at all. In addition, koi produce so much ammonia, too much for a 10 gallon tank to handle. Your going to have to do much work with this tank. You'll have to take 50% of water each day and replace it so that ammonia does not kill your fish (ammonia is lethal to fish). They should only need a couple of drops each, twice a day. Koi can eat the algae off of real plants.
