Alternative ways to heat an above ground swimming pool?
I have two college students and cannot afford $400 or up for a heater to heat our pool water this season. Wondering what else is out there that really works?
I have tried the fish with gel in them, not satisfied...and besides they supposedly only function as a solar cover once the heat is in.
Thanks, Mark Reiner
Find a used water heater and pipe it in with a circulating pump. It'll be a lot less heat than a typical pool heater, but should still work....running longer cycles. You'll need to get a cheapy pump somewhere....(ebay?) Remember, you'll need very little flow, so a small pump will do. Just a suggestion. ?Good luck.

fantastic points altogether, you simply gained a new reader. What would you suggest about your post that you made some days ago? Any positive?
Reading this reminds me of my old room mate. That guy was one of the smartest individuals I know, but he was a little too original for my tastes though. Anyways I loved reading this, thanks. Will give me something to discuss when I see him.
